Stephen Dobyns' books of poetry include Winter’s Journey, Mystery, So Long, Velocities: New and Selected Poems: 1966-1992, Black Dog, Red Dog, which was a National Poetry Series winner, and Concurring Beasts, which was the Lamont Poetry Selection. He is also the author of more than twenty novels including his most recent Burn Palace. His two books on poetic theory are Next Word, Better Word: The Craft of Writing Poetry and Best Words, Best Order: Essays on Poetry. He currently teaches creative writing in the MFA program at Warren Wilson College and lives in Rhode Island.
