Williams in celebrating the life and work of a remarkable writer and much-missed man.

Galway Kinnell (1927-2014) was one of the most beloved poets of the last century. His career spans almost 50 years, from 1960's What a Kingdom It Was to Strong is Your Hold from 2006. Selected Poems (2002) received both the National Book Award and the Pulitzer Prize. Kinnell was a dear friend to Poets House throughout the life of the organization, and his annual reading of Walt Whitman's "Crossing Brooklyn Ferry" at all but one Annual Poetry Walk Across the Brooklyn Bridge became a cherished tradition in the poetry community.
