Poet Ann Lauterbach discusses the 1930s Objectivist poets from Basil Bunting and Lorine Niedecker to George Oppen and Louis Zukofsky.
Ann Lauterbach is a poet and a scholar whose books include The Given & The Chosen (2011), Or to Begin Again (2009), which was a finalist for a National Book Award, a book of essays, The Night Sky: Writings on the Poetics of Experience (2008), and Hum (2005). She is Ruth and David Schwab Professor of Languages and Literature at Bard College, where she is co-chair of Writing in the Milton Avery Graduate School of the Arts. She is also a core critic in the Yale School of Art (Sculpture).
