Compass Translation Award Ceremony and Reading

Presented by the Cardinal Points Journal and the Russian-American Cultural Center

The awards will be presented by Irina Mashinski, the StoSvet Project director and co-editor of the Cardinal Points Journal; Sibelan Forrester and Alexander Veytsman, judges; and Regina Khidekel, the director of the Russian-American Cultural Center.

The Compass Award was established in 2011 by the Cardinal Points Journal in order to recognize the best English translations of Russian poetry. Each year the competition is dedicated to the works of a particular Russian poet. The second Compass Award contest (2012) was dedicated to the translation of poetic works of Marina Tsvetaeva.
