In their first collaboration, Poets House and Poets & Writers, Inc. present workshops which will teach you how to find the best magazines and book publishers for your poetry and keep pace with the ever-changing literary market. There is a limit of 10 people per session.
A reception and tour of the resources at Poets House will follow.
The popularity of Delmore Schwartz (1913-1966) can be attributed to several things, but Schwartz's caretaking of his own genius and manuscripts is not one of them. Literary executor Robert Phillips will discuss how Schwartz's abandoned manuscripts were discovered serendipitously and brought to posthumous publication.
Eamon Grennan, one of the most acclaimed Irish poets of our day, will read and discuss the poetry of Patrick Kavanagh (1904-1967)—whose poetry covers extraordinary ground, from his early satiric work, The Great Hunger, to his later poems of celebration.
