A Tribute to Amy Bartlett: Her Life in Letters

Amy Bartlett (1949 – 2004) was a poet, editor and long-time Poets House board member. She was the author of a volume of poems, Afterwards, a 1984 National Poetry Series winner, and the poetry editor of Tin House magazine. Active in the community of poets who first organized Poets House, she joined the board in 1991.

Poetry in The Branches National Institute: A Weekend Intensive for Librarians

This comprehensive weekend-long seminar prepares participants to bring this highly successful program model to their own libraries where, as one past participant put it, “it will cause poetry to take wing and drop feathers for years to come.”

The 2005 Institute will cover nuts-and-bolts information about producing vibrant poetry programs, building enriched collections and engaging enthusiastic audiences through effective community outreach. Participants will gain experience listening to, discussing, and even writing poetry. No one will leave uninspired!
