Poetry is the most indelible testimony we have of the adventures of the spirit. -- Stanley Kunitz
Poets House believes librarians are a critical link between writers and readers. Over the last 20 years, we have been committed to working with librarians across the country to help them create a place for poetry by encourage familiarity with the diversity of contemporary poetry and understanding poetry's unique ability to engage young people, bring together communities, and transform individual lives.
Through Poetry in The Branches (PiTB), Poets House has trained hundreds of librarians nationally, reached thousands of new poetry readers, and changed the way participating library branches provide poetry services and develop poetry audiences and collections.
